Laurie Lezin-Schmidt
has been in the business of telling stories and communicating ideas for 17
years. She has experience in both production and post production - her
work in the field, at TV stations or her many hours spent in editing suites
informs her work as a producer/project manager, editor and consultant.
Lezin-Schmidt's work appears regularly on PBS, cable, the web and film festivals around the world. Some producing credits include: Spark (Emmy Award, KQED, Art series), Quest (Emmy Award, KQED, Science series) and Kaiser Permanente. She co-produced the Emmy Award winning Seeking 1906 with Simon Winchester (PBS, feature Documentary). She co-produced and co-wrote the feature documentary After Happily Ever After which will air on PBS in 2012. Her work has garnered numerous awards at films festivals world-wide.
Her editing credits include Easy Money (Frontline, Documentary, PBS ); Death by Fire (Frontline, Documentary, PBS); Girl Trouble (Independent Lens, PBS, winner of the Golden Gate Award at the SF International Film Festival); The Real Dirt on Farmer John (Independent Lens, PBS,winner of many festival awards world-wide); Screaming Queen (Documentary, Emmy Award, PBS); Outlaws and Lawmen (The Discovery Channel); and The Castro (PBS, Peabody Award winner).
Laurie has also served as a consultant, advising on production organization, editorial writing and structure, and post production work flow and asset management.
